Scenario 1 - an overview

The add-on was created to be able to create a list of items of interest from a paper questionnaire that was periodically sent out to each customer in turn. This was then used to target marketing direct to each customer by sending them literature that would be relevant to them.

The questionnaire on paper consisted of a list of checkboxes, and a detail record had to be created in GoldMine for each type of interest, so that groups could be built and emails and literature could be sent as part of the marketing process. From each questionnaire it was possible that up to 20 seperate types of interests could be created, and it was found to be quite time consuming to create them using the standard GoldMine interface. In addition the same interest might be selected from each questionnaire so it was important to limit the ability to create duplicates.

The tool below was created as it allowed the user to simply select the interests required, with the previously selected interests being show, but disabled so that they could not be selected again.



To enable the client to add and remove interests as required the list of interests was kept in an easily accessible text file, and when new avenues of business were being explored, new interests could be added to the list in minutes.
